It all started with a love for DESIGN…

In early 2000, then only 21 years old, Emily A. Alfonso established a consulting firm commissioning individual professionals working together to complete projects, create classic signature pieces and provide design guidance. In 2006 Emily and her husband purchased a small furniture boutique specializing in handmade solid wood pieces for children and home furnishings in South Miami, FL and changed the name to American Living Furniture, a company by Emily A. Alfonso.

Since the birth of her daughter in 2008, Emily has since been inspired to take ALF in a new direction and focus even more on her passion; product design. As of September 2009 the ALF studio is not open to the public in order to bring to you the latest designs, ideas and products.

As a family owned business, we are committed to providing our customers with quality furniture and individual attention. Although you may find most of your favorite furniture lines, we are mostly known for our handmade custom solid wood furniture and classic design development.

We are open to proposals for custom residential and commercial projects. We can create custom designs, drawings and motifs for purposes such as:

• custom wood and upholstered furniture

• gift baskets that include accessories, furniture, baby registry items

• crib bedding

• children & adult bedding

• window treatment designs

• textile products and fashion

We invite you to schedule an appointment Monday – Saturday in order to dedicate time on a one on one basis. Private consultations are a great shopping experience in a non-rushed, relaxed, and comfortable setting: Your home and among your friends!  You may also visit us by appointment at Tutti-Bambini in South Miami, where you will get to view everything you need for your baby at one location!
